CFA is designed for high school students or recent graduates, and those new to the hospitality industry. The training and test are intended to get students ready for real life experiences in a food service establishment.
Subject materials include: Food Safety/HACCP, Management, Customer Service, Nutrition and culinary terminology.
Questions are randomly selected from a database with twice as many questions as will be asked for each subject.
Included for the student's study is the textbook, Restaurant Manager’s Guide by Edward Manley, published by Pearson Learning Solutions.
Questions were developed by professors at SUNY Morrisville, as well as from Pearson text question databanks which are used for our higher level certifications on each subject, selecting those we believe fit the entry level, and by having this fundamental knowledge would be impressive and useful to an employer.
